All of our Project Managers and a majority of upper management have OSHA 30 certificates because values and knowledge are passed down. Continuing education is constant as technology, best practices and environments are ever changing. We live for our families and stress the importance of protecting not only ourselves, but fellow tradesman, clients and those around us.
Our employees and clients deserve the best and that is our target. Architectural design and best practices in engineering change with time. Our projects require us to weigh the value and costs of remodeling and updating our clients’ environments. At the end of a shift, we want our employees to go home, sleep well, knowing they did everything to give the client their best.
With a goal of making employees work-life fulfilling, NWIS has created and internalized policies that uplift productivity and morale. We motivate our management to stress the importance of safety, quality, integrity, and growth. These values and their associated paths of achievement open doors and synergy for NWIS
Training on heavy equipment use, safety equipment, best practices, engineering requirements, communication techniques are a few of our many responsibilities to our employees. We value the input of our employees with open communication.
Setting a high moral and ethical standard by NWIS, employees know upfront what is expected of them. NWIS sets codes of conduct that influence a wholeness and unity within our team. This is the most important value that NWIS looks at when onboarding a new employee. Quality and safety can be learned, employee growth can be developed, but without integrity, none of our values can be achieved. Our integrity is shown through our actions, not our words.
At NWIS, we value safety, continuous learning, open communication, and a strong team culture, fostering respect, accountability, and unity across all our work environments.
Our company culture at NWIS is created for its employees through programs, behaviors and hiring processes to achieve the ultimate employee experience. It is leadership's responsibility to provide for and nurture our culture.
NWIS is drug free with annual drug testing as well as DOT testing and medical examinations. We have retained Tualatin Healthcare for job
Health and Safety through education, training, annual certifications, daily habits is paramount.

A positive culture through open communication, dialogue and confrontation of issues. To deal with issues with respect and a goal of fully understanding, sharing, evaluating, and setting expectations towards a common goal.
Our annual end of the year convention is where we enjoy food, laughter and stories together as a complete team. Throughout the year NWIS’s focus on different customer environments, services and trade skills makes us dynamic, but can compartmentalize our employees to one location for extended periods of time. This event is an uplifting way to bring us all together with our families and loved ones to share our experiences. It is commonly an overnight event and always supports an Oregon based venue.
NWIS employees are OSHA 10, Forklift, Scissor lift, and First Aid certified. All Equipment Operators are trained and certified in Forklift, Snorkel Lift, Excavator and Skid-steer.
